Biannually, the Syracuse Police Department and Syracuse Fire Department face off for a basketball game in the name of a charity. This year the group learned that there were 5 children from the Syracuse community who were part of the Make-A-Wish Utah program and decided that was their charity of choice for this year’s game and auction.

As a coordinated effort, the two departments teamed up with Syracuse City, Syracuse Jr. High and Syracuse High School to reach their goal. The night of the game they raised a little over $11,000. They also sold blue luminaries at the Syracuse Pumpkin walk and ended up reaching their goal to raise $25,000 for Make-A-Wish Utah. And, in case you were wondering the Guns won this year (again) with a score of 38 to 34. But Garret Atkin from the Guns team said the real winners are the kids and families in the program. A big thank you to the local businesses and residents for your support for the event.
