The latest phase in the northwest shoreline project at Jensen Pond has been completed. Work included new natural grasses and trees, fencing, walking, and fishing access areas along the shoreline. The natural grasses will reduce erosion around the pond and provide natural habitat for wildlife. This type of grass also requires less water and reduces the water and maintenance demands on the city. The trees will eventually provide some shade, and the fishing access will provide areas for anglers to move around the pond easily. The next phase is expected to be completed within the year and will include the construction of a new floating dock for fishing, wildlife viewing, and kayak access to the pond.
