
The City Council met on December 6th & 12th, 2023. Here are some of the significant actions taken at the meetings:
♦ Certified the results of the General Election. Paul Watson, Brett Cragun, and Julie Robertson were elected to serve a four-year term on the City Council starting January 2024.
♦ Adopted a resolution requesting the recertification of the Syracuse City Justice Court.
♦ Appointed Colin Winchester as the City Attorney.
♦ Approved the acquisition of real property located at 1939 W. 2700 S. for a street intersection improvement project. The purchase funds come from Transportation Impact Fees.
♦ Awarded Wasatch Sand and Gravel the contract for the 2000 W. Storm Drain Project, which includes piping the existing open ditch and installing curb, gutter, and asphalt.
♦ Adopted updates to the Transportation Master Plan with the accompanying amendments to the Transportation Impact Fee Analysis and Impact Fee Facilities Plan.
♦ Amended the Storm Drain Master Plan with the accompanying Storm DrainImpact Fee Facility Plan and Storm Drain, Impact Fee Analysis.
♦ The Consolidated Fee Schedule was amended with adjustments to the Storm Water and Transportation Impact Fees.
♦ Engineering Standards and Construction Specifications were updated to comply with recent legislation and to clarify street sign materials compatibility.
♦ Amended the General Plan Map for property located approximately 3000 W. between 1700 S. and 2700 S. from medium density to high density (R-3, PRD, Neighborhood Services, Mixed Use, G.C., or P.O.).
♦ Rezoned approximately 5 acres at 1188 W 250 S. from Industrial to Business Park and 10.613 acres from R-1 to R-2 with a development agreement at 2400 S. 2800 W.
♦ Amended Section 10.30.070 of the Syracuse City Municipal Code requiring trees to now be trimmed with a 13.5’ clearance above the street’s surface.
♦ Approved a contract with Weber Basin Water Conservancy for 45 acre feet of untreated secondary water.
